Field force management
Context: The company operates throughout Lithuania and has over 50 departments. More than 2,000 employees perform
road maintenance and repair work every day. The ongoing works are divided into road maintenance and contracting works.
Road works are planned for both a long period (week, month) and short term (a day). Information for the tasks assignment is
obtained from ongoing work contracts, road maintenance standards, performed road inspections, defects / tasks provided by
technical supervisors. Tasks to complete the road work are assigned both individually to each employee and to the temporarily
formed brigades. The quality of work is checked by additional road / object inspections.
Possible solution: A system that collects information from different sources of information and generates tasks and
schedules of planned and actual work according to the available resources. Information would be collected from the internal
road inspection system, the defect system provided by the technical supervisors, the road maintenance standards, etc.
Generated tasks could be submitted to employees in a mobile application, which would also collect information about work that
is already done. The information of the completed road works would go to the company’s work accounting information system
as well.
